Let’s Talk About: Why the UPPAbaby VISTA is My Dream Stroller

Before I was a mom it was imperative that I had the perfect pair of jeans. Once I found the ones that fit the best, I bought multiple pairs consistently going back to the same loyal, dependable, fashionable brand that I knew and loved.

And now as a parent, when I find a baby brand I love, I hold on tight and don’t let go. Last year I shared my love for the UPPAbaby MINU stroller and now I have a new obsession, our new UPPAbaby VISTA stroller. As much as I love the portability of the MINU, the VISTA takes strollers to a whole new level. Our family needed something for both of our children and a lot more extra storage. And somehow the bigger our children are getting they tend to accumulate more and more things. So I wanted a stroller that could grow with them through the years and we found it! And we absolutely love it!

As a mom, I look for longevity when making a purchase. I want something that will not only be excellent quality that will last me for as long as I need it, but also for something that can grow with my children over time, if possible. I also look for practicality, style, versatility, and something that will make my life easier. The VISTA stroller has all of these qualities and then some.

If you are a first time mom, you will love the luxury of the VISTA stroller. Not only is it a smooth ride and easy to get from one place to another, you have multiple options on how you take your baby from place to place. You can have your baby in a bassinet or a car seat*. The bassinet will allow your infant to sleep on the go and also comes with a sun shade with UV 50+. The car seat* option makes it easy for you to transfer your baby from car to stroller with minimal disruption – especially if you are trying to run a quick errand or stay on a nap schedule! When your baby gets older, you can use the toddler RumbleSeat that comes with the stroller and have your baby facing you or facing forward! There are so many options!

*According to the UPPAbaby website, the MESA Infant Car Seat attaches directly to the VISTA delivering a Performance Travel System that is the ultimate in portability and safety. No need to sacrifice performance for convenience. The VISTA is also compatible with select Chicco®, Maxi-Cosi®, Nuna®, and Cybex infant car seats with our adapters.

And if you become a mom of two, you can add on a RumbleSeat (aka: another toddler seat) and turn it into a double stroller! It’s super easy to convert from one to two seats, and you always have the option of quickly taking off the RumbleSeat and making it a single stroller again if need be.

With both seats, you can have both children facing toward you, both facing forward, with their backs to each other, where they can face each other, or reclined! And one child can sleep while the other child is awake!

Or you can mix and match having the bassinet or car seat option and a toddler seat at the same time!

And then you always have the option to add on a PiggyBack! My daughter calls it a “skateboard” and it is also is really quick and easy to attach to the back of the stroller or flip up if you don’t want to use it during your stroll.

With the PiggyBack one of your children can stand up instead of sit – or you can even use this feature if you have 3 small children! I’m telling you, it’s the only stroller you need for 1-3 children that could grow with you and last you for years! Like any full-size stroller, it is a little bigger and heavier than a lightweight stroller but I love that it is so versatile!

Now let’s talk about the style. Of course UPPAbaby strollers are fashionable and elegant looking strollers – and the colors and patterns they offer are so stylish, you are bound to find one you love. With over 12 different colors and patterns, you will find one that fits your personal style. The SPENSER special edition print we chose only comes in the VISTA! I love that it’s not only gorgeous but also so unique! The yellow and gray colors are so bright and colorful and I love how fun it is!

Here is why I love my VISTA so much:

The 100% leather handlebar and bumper bar makes it look so sleek and it’s so easy to clean – especially when my toddler gets it dirty and sticky from his applesauce or milk.

  1. The aluminum and magnesium frame makes the stroller sturdy and durable.
  2. And it folds super easy and quick – just the way a mom needs it to be – not complicated and slow!
  3. The shock absorbing front and rear suspension provides my children a smooth ride. It’s easy to maneuver.
  4. The no puncture wheels will never leave you with a flat tire.

The ultra large basket at the bottom makes it so easy to throw my diaper bag in for easy access where it won’t get smooshed. Plus I can also fit jackets, toys, shopping bags, and more plus have room to spare! It even has a few small pockets for small items like my phone, water bottles, or keys! I love how much space I have for my diaper bag and pretty much everything else my children accumulate along the way – especially if we are somewhere like the Zoo or Disneyland.

This sun shade is UPF 50+ for your children’s skin safety and protection.

Each toddler seat also has a peek-a-boo window so you can still see your child if need be when the shade is up.

  1. We even added a cup holder for the days we take the stroller to an amusement park for the day or on a hike. You can remove it if you’d like – so sometimes I take it off for quick trips.
  2. It’s so stylish! I love taking it around town and love getting compliments so I share all about it with others!

If you are looking for a new stroller, look no further! Take it from the mom who has owned multiple strollers and has finally found THE ONE!

And here is a list of where we are taking it this summer:

  1. Disneyland
  2. LEGOLAND
  3. San Diego Zoo + Safari Park
  4. Seaport Village
  5. Catalina
  6. Aquarium of the Pacific
  7. San Francisco
  8. Palm Springs
  9. Parks
  10. Neighborhood Walks

🇺🇸 What a monumental day in history we had t 🇺🇸 What a monumental day in history we had today! 🇺🇸

As soon as we woke up I started educating my children, specifically my daughter, on what the inauguration meant and why today was such a special day in history. We both were glued to the television as we watched @kamalaharris be sworn in as the first Black South Asian woman Vice President and @joebiden be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. We also were powerfully moved hearing @amandascgorman - the youngest inaugural poet in history recite “The Hill We Climb.”

My daughter was so excited to participate and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with the rest of the county and she was so proud to see and be a part of history in the making. I haven’t been to Washington D.C. in about 8 years but I promised I would take her one day when the pandemic is over.

In the meantime, I have a fun fact for you! Did you know that President Joe Biden and I both graduated from the same university? Yep! We both went to @syracuseu 🍊 And in fact, @joebiden is the first @syracuseu alumnus to become President of the United States!

And since I work from home, it can get quite noisy and distracting with my husband and two children here, so sometimes I get my best work done in the comfort of my own bed. And the best part is that I can have my new @crane_usa “4 in 1” cool mist humidifier on at all times with essential oils to help with overall wellness and since it comes with a sound machine I can block out the other noises in the house!

And at night, it helps my sinuses as I sleep, especially when the dry air of the heater is on, and it has a nightlight so my kids can see where they are going in the middle of the night when they inevitably need water or a hug!

This is our 6th #cranehumidifier style and it’s my favorite one yet! Check out my stories for a closer look! 👀 #happyhealthyhumidity

{New Blog Post} “How to Teach Children Gratitude {New Blog Post} “How to Teach Children Gratitude” 🌱✨🌸

Throwing it back to one of the first mommy and me photos I ever posted on my feed because I’ve been teaching my daughter about gratitude since she was this little, possibly even younger (she is two here for reference)!

Gratitude is such an important virtue and must have trait to build a child’s character. It also shows therapeutic benefits when you show gratitude to others, so why wouldn’t you want to make it a priority to teach and instill in your children?

In this blog, I have suggestions for how to teach children gratitude broken down by ages and stages from infancy to teenage years, while also including some conversation prompts, and links to my favorite gratitude journals for busy families that we use here at home!

Find the direct link to read in my bio and stories! I also published similar articles on @todayparents and @redtricycle if you follow me there! #drkimblog
DOUBLE TAP if you agree!! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I am DOUBLE TAP if you agree!! 🙋🏼‍♀️

I am that mom who wants to do it all and when I get overwhelmed or start suffering from a major case of burnout, I feel guilty if I take a break instead of giving my body and mind permission to slow down or even stop.

As moms we often feel guilty if we take a break or believe we are perceived as weak if we ask for help. I have learned that the more I ask for help and the more time I take for myself, the better I am for my children.

Guilt is an emotional response to something you perceived you did wrong, but when you experience unnecessary guilt, it’s counterproductive to healing and helping you with what you need most. So give it a try and let me know how you are going to take a break and not feel guilty about it this week below in the comments! ⤵️ #drkimparentingtips #theparentologist #drkimparentingadvice

For the last 3 years I have spent my career therapeutically helping families and children of all ages on the Autism Spectrum. Play has been a fundamental way for many of my clients to communicate if they are non-verbal. And some of my clients have had to be taught how to play with a toy or another person. The play ideas listed on the blog can be used with children with or without special needs. Play is a universal way a child can explore their world in a way that makes sense to them and cultivate imagination, creativity, and fun! As a Registered Play Therapist, I love the work I do and couldn’t be prouder of the progress my clients have made with play over the years! #drkimblog

As a Registered Play Therapist, play is the foundation to the way I help children conceptualize and conquer the world. Play is second nature to children and the way they respond to many of life’s obstacles. Sometimes as parents, it is easy to get into a power match with your children, especially when you want your children to comply with a request and they won’t budge. When this happens, we need to change the way our adult mind thinks and switch it to the way a child thinks. Instead of giving them a punitive consequence, try these play recommendations that can be used with children as young as toddlerhood all the way to adolescents! #drkimblog
