If you are a mom, chances are you have or will have a baby with a diaper rash. It’s inevitable since it is such a vulnerable spot for your baby’s skin. In fact, you’ll have to change about 6,000 diapers in your baby’s early years and 75% of all babies will develop diaper rash at least once every six months! But after two children and a lot of learning, trial, and error, I have found ways to prevent it as much as you possibly can – even thought it will still happen.
I know diapers are expensive, but I have found that changing your baby’s diaper as much as you can will help. I typically change my son’s diaper every 2-3 hours, except overnight. I have also found that not using a wet wipe during each diaper change helps as well. I tend to let his bottom area air dry even if he’s just laying on his changing table for an extra minute or two while I sing him a song or play a quick game with him. I have also found that not not tightening his diaper too tight helps as well and always having a diaper rash ointment on hand to use regularly helps tremendously. I keep some at home and some in the diaper bag. Being prepared as a mom is half the battle of potential issues that may arise on the go!
But what diaper rash ointment is worth the money? I have found that one of the hardest parts about being a mom is finding the best products to use for your children. I have been on the hunt for years for the best diaper rash ointment and I finally found Pinxav (prounnced pink-salve). It is made with zinc oxide, clove leaf oil, aloe vera, and Vitamin E so it can also be used for sunburn, scrapes, burns, cuts, bug bites, and other skin irritants you or your children may endure. It has even been used as a sunscreen for surfers, a chamois cream for performance cyclists, and a protective barrier for the elderly. It’s been trusted since 1927 and now I know why!
Started in 1927 by Milford Harris of Cleveland Ohio, Pinxav is a company built on values. Harris worked with a team of pharmacists and doctors to come up with a diaper rash ointment that was predominantly zinc oxide, reducing unwanted additives and replacing them with natural ingredients so parents had peace of mind when putting it on their baby’s body while at the same time healing their skin of an unwanted rash.
In fact, Pinxav uses 30% zinc oxide, which is more than any other competing brand. To learn more about zinc oxide and read about all of the product’s ingredients, click here! When Milford Harris passed away, his wife Lillian Harris took over the company becoming one of very few female CEO’s of her time. She earned her graduate degree at a time when very few women even went to college. She was all about social justice and giving back and it bled into running Pinxav until she was 97 years old. As a working woman, this is so inspiring to me!!!
“As a true family run brand, Pinxav has always been rooted in the belief in creating a product that heals and protects our most vulnerable in order to support healthy, happy families.”
And after 90 years, Pinxav continues to be a company that gives back and has a social responsibility component. They are not just concerned with healing skin, but also healing communities and those in need and making a difference. They give back to a cyclist team for the Aids Ride and Beyond Differences, a nonprofit that was created to end social isolation in middle schoolers. And as a breast cancer survivor, I love that Pinxav has aligned with ZeroBreastCancer (ZBC) – a nonprofit organization that promotes breast cancer prevention and overall health and wellness for individuals of all ages.
I am all about education and prevention at an early age – especially when it comes to being healthy. I still may have been diagnosed with breast cancer, but if I knew the things I know now about breast cancer and prevention, I would have had a better grasp on my overall health at a much earlier age. Knowledge is power and ZBC encourages young women to be healthy so that their bodies can develop according to the timetable that is right for them.
Early puberty can be caused by a combination of several factors including too little physical activity, poor diet, lack of sleep, too much stress and excessive exposure to chemicals that disrupt normal hormones and has been associated with greater health problems for girls later in life, including increased lifetime breast cancer risk. ZBC has created an engaging series of short YouTube videos with fun tips on actions to help girls slow down or delay puberty. You can learn more here”
And right now, if you use the code ZBC on the Pinxav website you will get $1 off your purchase they will also donate $3 to Zero Breast Cancer And you’ll get FREE SHIPPING on every order – no minimum purchase!
I love that Pinxav has a Happiness Guarenteed motto and I know you they will exceed your expectations! Give them a try and let me know what you think!!
