A few months ago my family and I moved into a new house. It was our first time owning a home that wasn’t new construction and I thought by doing so, there would be certain aspects we wouldn’t have to worry about like landscaping the backyard, buying appliances, and getting window treatments. But in actuality we had to do all of this and more.
I honestly didn’t know where to buy window treatments so I went with a familiar and trusted brand name, 3 Day Blinds. After my initial contact with them, they quickly set me up with a local design consultant, who came to my home for a free consultation when it was most convenient for me. The design consultant took her time sitting down with me and asking me what was most important to me in my home. She got to know me and my vision for window treatments instead of just going into a sales pitch, like other companies I’ve worked with in the past. We discussed budget and style preference before she showed me some potential ideas.
I love how she had tangible samples of blinds, shades, shutters, as well as drapes, and then was also able to show me how those window treatments would look in a mock living space on her computer. It really brought the experience to life! Once we were done looking at designs, we walked around the house and measured all of the windows and named each room for easy reference.
Then my design consultant input the measurements into the system in her computer and came up with an initial estimate for me. The first quote was too rich for me budget, so she was able to give me different options for how I could reduce the cost in real time with a couple of clicks on her computer. I appreciated how quickly this was considering I’ve had people write this part out by hand and remember it taking forever to add everything together from scratch. After going back and forth for a while, we eventually we came to a decision. Honestly I didn’t know there were so many options when it came to window treatments!! But my design consultant was patient and educated me on all the different variables to consider when investing in something like window treatments, which I appreciated. The whole process took a few hours. We decided to go with two inch white faux wood blinds.
Once I signed my contract, I was called about a week or so later telling me my blinds were ready to be installed. The installation itself only took about an hour and was done by a third party company that works with 3 Day Blinds. They were professional and efficient and they looked great when they were done! They even removed some of the old window treatments the previous owner had that were old and broken at no extra charge. The house looked more complete and stylish. I was so grateful that we had more privacy and it felt like our house was finally a home. They aren’t kidding when they say “you’ll love the treatment!”
