As soon as the Ergobaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier was released a few years ago, my daughter was around 8 months old. I couldn’t wait to have my hands on one. I had been secretly envious of my friends that had an Ergobaby and wanted one of my own. It was sold out everywhere at first but I finally bought mine and couldn’t have been happier. And not only was I able to wear it for a while with my daughter, I practically have used it everyday since my son has been born. And I have to say, it is one of the best investments I have ever made.
I love the original Ergobaby but really wanted the Ergobaby 360 because I wanted the option for my children to face forward. The Four Position 360 Baby Carrier provides four comfortable and ergonomic ways to wear baby: Front-Inward, Front-Outward, Hip and Back carry positions. In addition, the 360 offers a wide Velcro waistband, which was perfect for after my c-section. I wore my son as high or low as I needed to help my abdomen and back feel comfortable. I also love the padded shoulder straps. They are so comfortable I barely feel like I am wearing anything at all! The shoulder straps also evenly distribute my baby’s weight.
But I have to admit that my favorite part of the Ergobaby is the hood and the zippered pocket the hood rolls up in when you aren’t using it. Why, you ask? Well, not only does the hood provide my son with privacy when we are in public, but it has also helped tremendously to keep the sun off his face, the rain off his face, the wind away from his face, and food crumbs off his face when I eat while wearing him. Honestly, as soon as I cover him with the hood, he almost instantly falls asleep. I use the zippered pocket to keep my keys and cell phone in so I don’t have to carry a bag with me if I wear him on a hike or to somewhere like Disneyland.
When I am wearing my baby in the Ergo, I know he is perfectly positioned and he will always be in an ergonomic frog-leg, seated position with her spine in an optimal “C” position. According to the Ergobaby website, “The Four Position 360 Baby Carrier has been acknowledged as a “hip healthy” product by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Our baby carriers are comfortable, ergonomic, and safe for baby’s hips.”
The Ergobaby 360 can carry babies 12-33 pounds. If you own one from birth like I did, I highly recommend also buying the infant insert. You will most certainly use it and get your money’s worth. You can wear your baby as a newborn from 7-12 pounds with the insert. We are still using it and my baby is 12 weeks old.
As you can see from the video montage I posted on Instagram, I wear my son in the Ergo almost daily and most of the photos on my camera roll are of me wearing him in my Ergo. From waiting for his big sister during dance class, to hiking, taking a walk around the neighborhood, the beach, Disneyland, and Legoland, we take it everywhere. I leave it in my car and have even traveled across the country with it. It’s the ONLY thing my daughter slept in on the airplane when we traveled to Florida and Hawaii. It’s very lightweight and packs easily! And I loved that I could wear my baby in the Ergo when we went through security and on the airplane.
We own the grey color but there are 11 color choices to choose from. They are so reasonably priced at $160 and you will use every penny of it – trust me! And now, you also have the choice of buying their newest version of the Ergobaby 360 with the The Ergobaby Four Position 360 Cool Air Carrier, which is made with 3D Air Mesh fabric to keep baby cooler longer.
