What can I say? I love my DockATot! As a mom, I look for safety, functionality, price, and quality when I use a new product and DockATot exceeds all of my standards and expectations! And I can tell my son loves it too. He is content in it during the day and sleeps comfortably and peacefully in it throughout the night. It lends me the opportunity to sleep safely next to my baby in bed and gives him a sense of security being snuggly enclosed on all sides. One of my favorite and meaningful parts of the night is when I can sleep next to him with my head on the side of the pod and my hand on his body to soothe him. He then will turn his head slightly to the side toward me and it melts my heart to have this special bond with him. Because the sides are rounded I know I won’t roll over on him and that he won’t roll out or wiggle around in bed and hurt himself.
The pods come in two sizes and in many colors and styles. The Deluxe is ideal for babies 0-8 months and the Grand is ideal for babies and toddlers 9 months-36 months. In case you aren’t familiar, the Dock-A-Tot Deluxe is a multi-functional lounging, playing, resting dock that is portable so you can take it anywhere! Your baby can sleep in it supervised, relax in it, get their diaper changed in it, or even do tummy time in it! The pod is made of breathable and hygienic materials, is machine washable, has an interchangeable cover, and is lightweight and durable. You can pick from many different options for style, color, and cover but we chose the Silver Lining (which is basically grey and white chevron). The best part is they are machine washable and also very easy to travel with! In fact, I carry mine all around the house to different rooms throughout the day and we’ve even easily taken it with us overnight to a hotel!
One of my favorite safety aspects is that the Deluxe pod is “designed so that the baby’s face sit comparatively high in relation to the sides. The sides are low and also rounded. A baby correctly positioned in the pod (on his back) is breathing into open air. The design is made with consideration to not trap used air (breath; carbon dioxide).” This is especially important to minimize the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Also the pod does not trap in heat. The materials used in the design allow for air to pass through effectively, thus keeping baby cool and relaxed when sleeping. I love this because both of my babies have slept better in a colder environment and often get warm when they sleep.
