It’s Halloween this weekend and I know the perfect place for you to take the family to play for some spooktacular fun! If you’ve never been to the Great Wolf Lodge, now is the time to go! There are 20 locations all over the country, one being in Canada, so chances are, there is one near you!!!
My family and I just recently spent the day at the Southern California location in Anaheim/Garden Grove area. It was my second time at Great Wolf Lodge and this time, we spent the day for a special Blogger Day of Play, and it was so much fun! This location opened in 2016, and even though they had to close for over a year in 2020, they are back open and have a lot to offer families, especially this time of year!
Water Park Play
The great thing about Great Wolf Lodge is that you can just go for the day or you can spend the night. And this time of year, even though it may be cold outside, Great Wolf Lodge has an 84° , 105,000 square foot indoor water park with water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and more! We literally spent hours playing in the small child play zone and going down epic waterslides! We even went down what my kids call “the green tunnel” on a giant family raft and it was incredibly fun!
Main Street
During our day of play, we spent time on Main Street playing at the Ten Paw Alley™️ mini bowling, the Howl at the Moon glow in the dark mini golf, and the Northern Lights arcade, going on a Magic Quest, and making a Build-A-Bear!
Paw Passes
If you are planning a trip to Great Wolf Lodge, I can’t recommend getting a Paw Pass enough. There are three different tiers; Pup Pass, Paw Pass, and Wolf Pass. The packages start at $49.99 and go up with the more add-ons you have. I had a Wolf Pass during our last visit, and believe it has the best value. The Wolf Pass starts at $79.99 and includes:
- One game of MagiQuest
- Choice of classic wand, standard topper or Magi belt
- $10 to spend at our Northern Lights Arcade
- One 16oz candy cup from the GW Candy Shop
- One round of Howl at the Moon Glow Golf
- One game of bowling at Ten Paw Alley
- One scoop of Bear Paw ice cream
- One pair of Great Wolf goggles to enhance your waterpark fun
- One Glitz Glitter tattoo (check resort due to Health and Safety protocols)
Themed Rooms
I have not stayed the night at Great Wolf Lodge yet, but can’t wait to one day!! They have the most fun rooms I have every seen for families, especially children, at any given resort! They have standard, themed, and premium suites. My favorites are the Wolf Den Suites and the Kid Cabin Suites that both come with a separate bunk bed area for the kids.
And they even can do special decorations for birthdays!
Delicious Food
I love the food at Great Wolf Lodge and the resort is known for being very accommodating to families that have dietary restrictions and or allergies. During this visit, we ate at the Wood Fired Grill. I ate the salads, salmon, risotto, and gluten free pasta. The kids loved the grilled cheese, burgers, macaroni and cheese, and fries.
There is also a Dunkin Donuts on site as well as a candy store and an ice cream shop!
Holiday “Howl-O-Ween” Fun
This Halloween, the entire resort is celebrating everything spooktacular until Halloween including The Thrill of Howl-O-Ween Yoga Tails, Monster Bash Dance Party, Critter Cartoons art class, and more! You can also go trick-or-treating at Great Wolf Lodge on their two-story Trick or Treat trail!
And the entire resort is decorated in spooky decorations including a giant spider made of 4,000 black balloons that hangs proudly in the lobby!
I also love the health and safety measures the Great Wolf Lodge has in place. Mandatory masks are required indoors in public areas (except the water park).
