My family and I recently traveled to the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort and had the most luxurious time. We have always loved the Wailea side of the island because that is the side of the island we were married on exactly 10 years ago! That’s right, this was a special trip to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary with our children. We definitely had a family vacation to remember!
The Andaz Maui is set on 15 beachfront acres and is home to 301 guest rooms and suites and 4 outdoor infinity pools and direct access to Mokapu Beach.
There is also a family pool area with a beach walk in area that is perfect for little ones!
And don’t forget the quiet and peaceful adult only pool that is reserved for adults 18+!
This luxurious resort also has multiple dining options that feature regional farm-to-table food.
We stayed in a double queen ocean view room. For a family of four, it was a little on the small side but the views were beautiful. The bathroom, especially the shower, was gorgeous, but it was narrow and tight and only one person could fit inside at a time, and not necessarily designed for small children. The room also had remote controlled window shades!
And the views from our room did not disappoint!
The resort is also home to some wonderful amenities that are complimentary with your resort fee like paddle boarding and ukulele lessons! The resort also has a fitness center for guests to use throughout their stay.
The resort is also so beautiful in the evening!
When we traveled to the Andaz Maui, there were still pretty strict travel restrictions in place due to COVID. Things are constantly changing, but we felt very safe at the resort. There were social distancing measures, mandatory mask wearing, hand sanitizer stations all over the resort, and we couldn’t even leave our car when we arrived to check in at the lobby until we showed proof of testing negative for COVID before our arrival.
I would highly recommend the Andaz Maui to anyone looking to experience a luxurious Hawaiian vacation and even though there were a few other families there with small children, I would say it is a better resort for couples or families with older children. The resort is stunning but definitely favors adults and isn’t as family friendly if you have small children.
