Disney on Ice: Mickey’s Search Party

My family and I had the most MAGICAL time at the debut of Disney on Ice “Mickey’s Search Party” at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego last night! It was opening night of the new show that is running from January 23 – 26, 2020. This was our 3rd time seeing a Disney on Ice show but our first time seeing this particular show. And let me tell you the show did not disappoint! In fact, in my opinion, it was our favorite show yet! Read on to find out why!

Our evening began with a private pre-show party where we were able to meet Tinkerbell, have a few snacks, and do some coloring and crafting! Tinkerbell is one of our favorite Disney characters and she has a special role in this show so it was special to have some time with her beforehand!

“Embark on a quest with Mickey Mouse and pals as they follow Captain Hook’s treasure map for clues to find Tinker Bell after he attempts to capture her magic” – Disney on Ice

And thanks to Feld Entrainment and Disney on Ice, once the private pre-party wrapped up, we grabbed some dinner and souvenirs before heading to our seats. They have a lot of restaurant options like Ruby’s Diner, Pizza Port, and even Dunkin! And you can find every souvenir you can imagine and every treat under the sun including super fun Olaf snow cones! We decided to buy some burgers and a souvenir popcorn bucket to share during the show!

They even have really fun photo opps with your favorite characters around the area!

We had incredible seats right in the middle of the stage. We usually sit on the side and honestly every seat in the arena is fantastic, however, for this show I would recommend getting seats from the center so you can see straight on because there are some amazing graphics you don’t want to miss from the middle!

And if you get there early, they have a pre-show presented by Hawaiian Airlines that is super fun and makes the time waiting for the show go by super quickly! I won’t share too much so I don’t give all the fun away, but it features Tinkerbell and pirates!

Then it was showtime!! The show started with a fun and colorful opening act starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy!

Then we watched Belle and friends from Beauty & The Beast!

Next up was Toy Story! Woody, Jeese, Buzz, and all their friends played on the ice and it was super fun to watch! They even had a giant Pixar ball they threw into the audience for everyone to play with and pass around!

The next part was Moana! The whole segment was incredible and it was fun because the whole audience sang along to the songs but I have to say the last song was my favorite! The animated graphics when Moana delivers the heart to Te Fiti was purely mind blowing!

The last segment before Intermission was Coco! And this segment by far made this show the best I’ve ever seen! Everything glowed from the blue lights and there were dancers on stilts that were breathtaking! This combined with the animated graphics on the screen behind the ice made it truly spectacular!

After intermission, Aladdin, Ariel and friends from The Little Mermaid, and Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and friends from Frozen made an appearance!

The show is in San Diego all weekend but if you live outside of the area, check out their website for a show near you! They have multiple shows all over the country! But if you are in San Diego, you can see the show tonight at 7:00pm, this Saturday at 11am, 3pm or 7pm or on Sunday at 1pm or 5pm! Tickets start at $15 and you can even pay a little extra for a VIP Experience ticket! For an additional $45 a person, you can have a special meet and greet with Mickey and Belle and more! All seats are reserved; tickets are available for purchase online here, charge by phone at 888-929-7849 or visit the Pechanga Arena Box Office. *tickets prices are subject to change; additional venue/ticketing fees may apply.

I honestly cannot recommend this show enough to all families with children of all ages. Disney is magical for all ages and this show is so captivating for children and adults alike. We loved singing along to all the familiar songs from our favorite Disney movies and of course loved seeing all of the characters from our Happiest Place on Earth skate on ice!!!
