Celebrate Fur Friends this Thanksgiving with VETSGIVING

This past week I had a sneak peek at the first episode for POP GOES THE VET WITH DR. JOYA on Nat Geo that debuts during VETSGIVING that runs from November 22nd-November 28th!

This Thanksgiving, Nat Geo Wild is recognizing the professionals who work to keep our fur animal friends healthy! VETSGIVING is about empathy, love, and devotion and is the perfect series to watch over Thanksgiving with family.

The annual VETSGIVING series with each evening focusing on veterinarian shows viewers can’t get enough of, including HEARTLAND DOCS, DVM; CRITTER FIXERS: COUNTRY VETS; HATCHER FAMILY DAIRY; THE INCREDIBLE DR. POL; DR. OAKLEY, YUKON VET; and VETS ON THE BEACH. VETSGIVING will run a veterinarian series each night beginning at 8/7c.

And included in the lineup is a special sneak peek of new series POP GOES THE VET WITH DR. JOYA! Dermatologist Dr. Joya Griffin sees it all from impacted earwax to oozing cysts to massive hair loss, there’s no case too mysterious or bizarre for the Kentucky-based doctor as she investigates the largest organ in an animal’s body, the skin. A first look of the series will air Thursday, Nov. 25, at 11/10c and Saturday, Nov. 27, at 10/9c, in advance of its series premiere in spring 2022.

I truly admire and respect the work Dr. Joya does with animals, but I want to warn you that some of the puss, gunk, and goo was a little too explicit for me and possibly for you and your littles, so view with caution!

“Veterinarians deserve recognition for the important work they do to care for our pets, livestock and wildlife,” says Janet Han Vissering, senior vice president of Development and Production at National Geographic Partners. “Nat Geo WILD’s Vetsgiving is our way of showing them how much they are appreciated, especially the dedicated professionals featured in our veterinarian-focused programs.”
