“Sunny day sweepin’ the clouds away, on my way to where the air is sweet. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street? Come and play, everything’s A-OK, friendly neighbors there, that’s where we meet!” – Sesame Street
Earlier this month I was invited to come and play where the air is sweet with other #SeaWorldMOMS and watch the new “The Sesame Street Party Parade” that debuted May 5th at Sea World, San Diego! The event was hosted by The Moms , Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, and they made the day so much fun!
And we loved the parade! It was musical, colorful, and interactive! We were dancing and singing along the whole time and during one of the parade stops, my daughter even was invited to go dance with the cast members of the parade! Performers also did jumping rope and hula hooping! The second parade stop included Rosita, a Sesame Street favorite who like to play the guitar and is fluent in English and Spanish. The parade also features 10 larger-than-life themed floats including Sesame Street favorites such as Mr. Hooper’s Store and Count’s Castle. SeaWorld San Diego is the FIRST and ONLY place to see this unique parade experience in California!
In addition to the parade we also spent the day exploring the park. We went to the Penguin Encounter, Otter Outlook, Turtle Reef, and the Shark Encounter!
And we even went to a beautiful ride over the Bay on the Bayside Skyride!
We also watched our two favorite shows, Sea Lions Live and Pets Rule! And even though it wasn’t open yet when we visited, the new tallest and fastest roller coaster in San Diego, called the Electric Eel just opened on May 10th!
We opted for the Abby’s Sea Star Spin and Elmo’s Flying Fish rides at the Sesame Street Bay of Play area for families and children!
There is so much to see and do for families with children of all ages! So whether you are local or come to visit this summer, a one day pass or an annual pass will work for you!
At the end of our day, we were treated to a huge buffet dinner with Elmo and his friends! We met so many of the characters of Sesame Street, which definitely was a highlight of the day! They kindly gave lots of hugs and posed for photos with us! I think I was just as excited as my children! It definitely brought me back to my childhood.
The Sesame Street Party Parade is held weekends at 4:30pm throughout the summer until September 2nd!
So hurry and go see it before it’s gone! And if you go on a holiday weekend, you may even catch their summer Fireworks Spectacular Show!
