My family and I recently had the opportunity to travel to Asheville, North Carolina for a vacation experience of a lifetime! We spent a lot of time in downtown Asheville walking around the quaint one of a kind shops and eating at the most delectable restaurants with Southern flare! We even visited the new Dolly Parton mural by Gus Cutty for a quick snap!!
From the moment you leave the main road and turn into the driveway of The Omni Grove Park Inn you know you are somewhere special. The inn is so historic and majestic you feel like you are royalty heading home to your castle. We were so excited to be hosted for a stay!
The Inn was built in 1913 and was founded by Edwin Wiley Grove. The architecture was derived from a vision from his son in law, Fred Seely. The Main Inn has 142 rooms, The Sammons Wing has 204 rooms, and The Vanderbilt Wing has 167 rooms, which are also pet friendly! In addition to the 500+ rooms, there are 14 suites and even 28 rooms and a Penthouse on a private adults only Club Floor! And over the years so many famous guests have stayed at the Inn like Thomas Edison, Helen Keller, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Belushi, Harry Houdini, over 10 presidents, and more!
We stayed in the Sammons Wing and the rooms are beautiful and spacious with more than enough space for a family of four! And did I mention the gorgeous views?
And we were greeted with the cutest welcome gift bag stuffed inside with the sweetest note and a collectible book, hat, chocolate, popcorn, and stuffed animals for the kids!
Our room overlooked the Inn’s golf course and also came with a refrigerator and a coffee and tea maker!
When you first walk into the Lobby you are greeted with two 36 foot wide stone fireplaces rising two stories high that even have a hidden elevator in the stones and travel to the Main Inn rooms. They also have live music in the evenings!
I can’t even tell you how stunning the views are and honestly the photos don’t do it justice. The entire grounds are covered in waterfalls, trees, streams, and other greenery.
The grounds are so big, in fact, that the Inn offers a complimentary shuttle service to take you to different parts of the property!
We took the shuttle to the a few on-site museums, including a vintage car museum, and various parks with some fun art pieces!
The Inn also has the most beautiful championship golf course designed by Donald Ross! In fact, they are an official hotel of the PGA tour! Many golf legends have played the course over the years and President Obama has even played the course twice!
In addition to the golf course there is a fitness center and two pools; one indoor and one outdoor!
There is even an entire 50,000 square foot Sports Complex with tennis, racquetball, pilates, yoga, ping pong, pool tables, and a game room! In fact, there are a total of 3 indoor and 3 outdoor tennis courts!
There is also a short hiking trail surrounded by tall luscious green trees that was a great way to start each morning we were there.
And when you are inside the Inn, there is always a space for you to rest and relax!
There are also 4 locally sourced restaurants at the Inn. My favorite was the Blue Ridge Farm to Table restaurant where you could get the most delicious breakfast buffet. The views were also extremely breathtaking from every table!
For serenity and privacy reasons, you cannot take photos inside their 43,000 square foot subterranean spa, but I was able to capture a few from the outside with its hidden walkways and tunnels leading to and from the spa and a spectacular birds eye view!
The Inn has activities for all ages and is also very family friendly and has supervised kids’ activities like arts and crafts, swimming fun, and sports for children 5-12! They also give every child a backpack filled with games and other toys upon check-in! My daughter’s favorite part of the inn was the ice cream shop located near the Vanderbilt Wing! You can also get some coffee and light eats there, too! And of course, that is where the gift shop is located , which is also a child favorite!
Next time I really want to go to their dueling piano bar!
There is so much to do we didn’t have time to do it all but we can’t wait to go back one day and visit again! In the meantime you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram for all the latest at the Inn!
This is a sponsored post but all photos and opinions are my own. Thank you to The Omni Grove Park Inn for hosting our stay.
